Icoana sparta si alti doi sfinti/ The shattered icon and two more saints

De cand n-am mai pictat pe sticla, am si uitat cat de sensibila e. Obisnuita cu lemnul, ma apuc eu sa pregatesc icoana pentru targ; pune agatatoare, lipeste carton pe spate, bate cuie. Am batut cu simt de raspundere, normal. Cand intorc icoana pe fata si deschid usitele, soc si groaza: o mare crapatura! Frumoasa mea nu a mai putut fi luata la targ. Eram prea mandra de ea, trebuia sa se intample ceva!

It's been a long time since I did my last painting on glass. I almost forgot how sensible glass is. So, accustomed with the less sensible wood, I proceeded in preparing the icon for the fair; mounting the hanger, attaching the cardboard on the back, pounding the nails. It's just that I pounded the nails a little too hard and the glass shattered. My beautiful icon couldn't be taken to the fair. Maybe I was too proud of if and that's why it happened. Anyway, I'm gonna fix it!

Saint Mina and Haralambie were safe; it seems that lumber doesn't break so easily :))
